Taking Risks will be featured at Canada’s 38th FIFA, Festival International du Film sur l’Art, next month.
The documentary was tapped for the the FIFA Official Selection – Feature Film category and will be shown twice, on March 21st and March 29th.
The screenings mark the North American premiere of Taking Risks, which was directed by Maria Stodtmeier and released last year on the ACCENTUS Music label. Taking Risks shows Barbara Hannigan preparing to conduct her first opera, Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress. From the auditions to opening night, the documentary follows the selection process of EQ artists, culminating in performances with Sweden’s Gothenburg Symphony.
