Equilibrium Sanna Gibbs Award-winning lyric-coloratura soprano Sanna Gibbs graduated from the University College of Opera in Stockholm. Before studying at the UCO she attended the Stockholm Operastudio 67 and the Musical Theatre Programme at Kulturama.
Sanna debuted as Papagena in Die Zauberflöte at the Royal Swedish Opera 2013 and has since returned for such roles as Musetta in José Curas production of La Bohème, Erste Blumenmädchen and Lucy in Victoria Borisova-Ollas’ new opera Dracula.
Roles elsewhere include Frasquita (Carmen, Dalhalla Opera), Jenny Smith (The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny , NorrlandsOperan), Juliette (Roméo et Juliette, Malmö Opera/National Touring Theater in Sweden, Riksteatern), Lucy in (The Three Penny Opera, Stockholm Folkoperan), Konstanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) and Helena (A Midsummer night’s Dream) both at Läckö Castle.
Sanna was the soprano soloist in Lars-Erik Larsson’s, Disguised God, which was transformed into a stage production at Folkoperan in Stockholm and later reproduced for a national tour. She was also the leading role of Ilon in the critically acclaimed children’s opera, The Long Long Journey, at the Royal Opera in Stockholm.
​Through the course of her education she performed roles such as Sophie Der Rosenkavalier, Nanetta Falstaff, Susanna Le Nozze di Figaro, Despina Così fan tutte, Clorinda La Cenerentola, Annina La Traviata and Zerbinetta Ariadne auf Naxos.
