The Rake's Progress
As part of EQ’s first season, semi-staged performances of Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress are planned with three European orchestras: Gothenburg Symphony in December 2018, Münchner Philharmoniker in May 2019, and several performances with the LUDWIG Orchestra, including performances in March 2019 at La Monnaie as part of Belgium’s Klarafestival, and a five city European tour in May 2019.
In June, EQ and LUDWIG travel to the US to the Ojai Music Festival in California and followed by the Aldeburgh Festival in the United Kingdom.
Barbara Hannigan will conduct all of the performances and lighting designer and director Linus Fellbom will direct and light, for the various concert halls.
Performances of Mozart's Requiem with Munich Philharmonic and Danish National Symphony Orchestra are scheduled for March and May 2019.
Stravinsky's ballet Pulcinella, written for chamber orchestra and three singers has been performed at the Ojai Music Festival in the United States and Aldeburgh Festival in the United Kingdom. It will also be performed at the Ludwigsburger Festspiele, Tivoli Festival and will be recorded with Munich Philharmonic during the 2020-21 season.
Gerald Barry's Salome, will be premiered by Equilibrium Young Artists in 2021. Based on text by Oscar Wilde, the opera will be performed at the NTR ZaterdagMatinee at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam with Ludwig Orchestra. This will be Equilibrium Young Artists’ first world premiere.
The opera is a co-commission between LA Philharmonic (LA premiere postponed), Concertgebouw ZaterdagMatinee and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
