The soprano Aphrodite Patoulidou was an entrancing soloist in Vivier’s “Lonely Child,” a head trip of a piece in a musical language both direct and mysterious. Throughout May, Equilibrium Young Artists tour throughout Europe with performances of The Rake’s Progress. This semi-staged contemporary production will travel to Munich (14 and 15 May), Paris (20 May), Amsterdam (23 May), Dortmund (25 May), Dresden (27 May) and conclude in Hamburg (29 May).

The Aldeburgh Festival 2019 has announced the full programme for June 2019, which features three Artists in Residence: composer Thomas Larcher, tenor Mark Padmore and soprano and conductor Barbara Hannigan.
