New documentary: “Barbara Hannigan – Taking Risks”
On Monday February 19th, a special presentation about the new documentary film project “Barbara Hannigan – Taking Risks”.
The film follows Hannigan as she prepares herself for her first opera production as a conductor of Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress and recruits the cast of Equilibrium singers through a personal selection process.

Also by way of EQ, the pianist, composer and conductor Edo Frenkel got in touch, and serendipity created an opportunity for us to work together in the preparation of a Satie Socrate project at the Ruhrtriennale. I look forward to working with him again in future.

Recently I was assisted by the young(er than me) conductor Gabriella Teychenné on my European tour with the Netherlands’ Ludwig Orchestra. She was a welcome addition to our tour. Her positive energy and fierce talent were inspiring to me and to the players in the orchestra, and I’m very happy she will assist me for my concerts in January 2018 at Munich Philharmonic!
