The Dutch orchestral collective LUDWIG has been a huge part of the EQ season. They joined us for the Rake Eurotour, as well as at for the Klara Festival performances at La Monnaie, and our repertoire is ever-expending as seen from our performances together at the Ojai and Aldeburgh Festivals. Barbara has been recording and performing with LUDWIG since 2012, and these exuberant and brilliant musicians are a perfect match for working with Equilibrium. Thank you all!
One of the newest members of EQ, young Dutch conductor Rolf Verbeek stepped in on very short notice to assist me with our Rake's Progress rehearsals for the Klara Festival in Brussels. His excellent ears and infinitely helpful presence on the subsequent Rake's Progress European tour, and at the Ojai Festival were very welcome, especially with the tricky Pulcinella of Stravinsky, as well as assisting me on the recent recording (with Ludwig) of the Grisey Quatre chants pour franchir le seuil. Rolf recently conducted Camerata Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and returns to EQ in the 2019/20 season as assistant conductor for several engagements throughout Europe.
