
Gerald Barry’s operas The Importance of Being Earnest and Alice’s Adventures Underground both saw their world premieres with the LA Phil. Appropriately for the debut of Barry’s brand-new opera, soprano and conductor Barbara Hannigan leads the leads the LA Phil New Music Group in the Oscar Wilde-inspired Salome.
The world premiere also marks Equilibrium Young Artists‘ first world premiere, featuring EQ singers James Way, Alison Scherzer, Erik Rosenius and Trevor Eliot Bowes, as well as actor Mathieu Amalric. Barry’s Salome is a LA commission.
