Canadian Baritone Drew Santini performs opera, oratorio, and chamber music, and collaborates on a diverse gamut of musical projects. In the upcoming season he will perform 8:Metamorphosis, a dance opera by Nicole Beutler Projects in Amsterdam, debut with Freiburg Baroque Orchestra under Kristian Bezuidenhout, and will perform at the Ittinger Pfingstkonzerte in Switzerland.
Highlights of recent seasons include the role of William in Philip Glass’ The Fall of the House of Usher under Carlo Boccadoro with Opera2Day, Grimbald in Purcell’s King Arthur with Vox Luminis, Handel’s Messiah with Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, Bach’s Matthäus-Passion with the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra, Johannes-Passion with Jerusalem Baroque, and Weihnachts-Oratorium with The Hague Philharmonic. Drew collaborates with several of the world’s leading baroque ensembles and very often with the Nederlandse Bachvereniging where he appears in over 25 works on ‘All of Bach’, most notably in Johannes-Passion.
Dedicated to chamber music and song, Drew co-founded Damask Vocal Quartet whose 2018 album O schöne Nacht won France’s Choc de Classica award. He has also recorded albums with La Bande Montréal Baroque, BachPlus, and Oerknal! New Music Collective.
Drew holds degrees from The Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music, and he currently lives in The Hague, Netherlands.
