Baritone Bruno Roy, a native of Montréal, is an acclaimed performer of opera, chamber music, and art song, particularly within the French repertoire and new works. He has appeared with the Canadian Opera Company, Edmonton Opera, Oper Frankfurt, and Against the Grain Theatre among others, in productions ranging from The Magic Flute to Kopernikus.
Bruno has also toured children’s operas in Germany and Canada and engaged in new opera workshops, notably collaborating with composers Ana Sokolovic and Danika Lorèn on a new opera based on Henrik Ibsen’s play Hedda Gabler.
In addition to being a Western Canada District Winner of the 2021 Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions, Bruno is a graduate of McGill University, Canadian Opera Company’s Ensemble Studio, Edmonton Opera’s Emerging Artist program and the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity’s Opera in the 21st Century program
