Equilibrium’s first project will be three semi-staged performances of Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress with Gothenburg Symphony in December 2018. Barbara Hannigan will be conducting. For the Gothenburg production we are looking for Europe-based singers when possible. The singers will be paid by Gothenburg Symphony.
After The Rake’s Progress in Gothenburg in 2018, further performances of the opera are scheduled for May 2019 in Europe and in June 2019 in the US.
The Rake’s Progress roles:
Anne Truelove, soprano
Baba the Turk, mezzo-soprano
Tom Rakewell, tenor
Nick Shadow, baritone or bass-baritone
Father Truelove, bass
Mother Goose, mezzo or contralto
We are also casting for performances of Mozart’s Requiem with two major European orchestras for March and April 2019.
The Paris (14 & 15 April) and London (22 & 23 June) audition dates are primarily for casting The Rake’s Progress.
The Gothenburg Symphony, the National Orchestra of Sweden, was founded in 1905. The orchestra’s home is the Gothenburg Concert Hall, and the orchestra’s television channel GSOplay broadcasts concerts live and on demand in full HD.
Barbara Hannigan has performed many times with the Gothenburg Symphony, both as soprano soloist and conductor.
In the 2015-2016 season she was Artist-in-Residence with the orchestra.
