I am searching for musicians with a sense of individual drive, who have great passion and curiosity, and of course, the voice and technique to go with it.

Please, look at my work and aesthetic, and deeply consider if what I have to offer or inspire as an artist is appropriate for your goals and dreams. I do not want any of us to waste our time. This is not a general casting call for a gig.

Equilibrium is for singers who:

  • have a specific interest in Barbara Hannigan’s approach to music-making

Equilibrium’s first project will be three semi-staged performances of Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress with Gothenburg Symphony in December 2018, conducted by Barbara Hannigan.
Further performances of The Rake’s Progress are planned for the spring and summer 2019 in Europe and the US.
For the Gothenburg production we are looking for Europe-based singers when possible.

Equilibrium Projects

Equilibrium will be holding general auditions in 2017 for concert and opera performances in the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons. Barbara will be hearing artists for Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress, Mozart’s Requiem, as well as for future operatic and concert engagements.

The Paris (14 & 15 April) and London (22 & 23 June) audition dates are primarily for casting The Rake’s Progress.
Anyone applying for Paris or London is required to sing an aria from The Rake’s Progress UNLESS you are auditioning for Mother Goose, Sellem, or Father Trulove. In which case, you may sing something appropriate to those roles.
All sopranos are required to sing Anne’s Aria and Cabaletta;
tenors: one of Tom’s arias;
baritones/bass-baritones: one of Nick Shadow’s arias;
mezzos: Baba the Turk’s aria.
